I was really excited to see my one of my Journal Theme being featured in this official News Article! Maybe most of you have already read the article. I don't know, what made them choose mine, since there are so many beautiful other themes as well......whatever be the reason but I am really very honored! But, of course I am always very confident with my designs, so I am not very surprised or anything and with this one I really went with a very attractive color but, 90% of time I am always right with the colors, I spend hours deciding on colors! *wink*


I know folks, I have not said it enough, I really want to say thanks to all of you. First of, I want to say thanks to all the new people who have added me after I got the DD recently and after this news article feature. Like I always do,I will land on your page to personally say thanks, but it will take some time, so before that a special Hello with a smile to you all!

Plus, I want to say thanks to all those who favs my works and most importantly gives me such a sweet and nice comments, it really motivates me and makes my day. Also, while I am at it, I want to thank all my friends for....well, everything!

Okay, once in a dA lifetime, everybody writes about something they like about dA or dislikes or this needs to be changed or about this or that. So I also thought, I should also make my  wishlist (or whatever it can be called) as far as dA's user interface is concerned.

deviantArt, from the time I have joined has really grown a lot, not that it was any less when I joined but it is applaudable that it has constantly  introduced so many new features and it still is! I know, currently they have introduced new features like critique, message center and maybe are working on portfolio, and this newer version is not unknown to any of us.

But day in and day out as a user of dA, I feel this features should have been there:

And of course, the following list is not in any particular order, plus some are more important some are not but i wanted to make it to "10". *wink* Also, some are just the subscribed features, but... meh!!

1> I like that now you can arrange things on your profile page, but I wish we can swap the sides, the entire things on left or on right. Something like, we had for journals (if you remember) before this new dA version was introduced.

2> I have no idea, why if i choose to Hide my Activity from others, I cannot see it either. Secondly, Activity & Statistics should be made separate, you know the way currently it is, if you make your stats visible, the Activity also becomes visible, you may want to show or hide either of them.

3> Journals on dA are something so prominent, I don't need to tell you that, in short it is a important communication tool for members on dA. But, sometimes when you write that is too long and takes time (just like this journal entry ) and if dA goes into maintenance mode or your puter crashes or internet or electricity problem etc. the whole thing might disappear, so much waste of time, to avoid this  there should be a feature to Auto Save your entry while/before you publish it. I don't know hoe they can implement this technology on dA but Auto Save is nothing new, if you use Blogs or other such things.

4> Something related to above, it would be great if you can save your journals as Draft, sometimes you write something but are not sure if you have yet finished it or have time to finish it now or maybe you decide you do not want to publish it or maybe it is something that you want to publish on some later date, so if your entry is saved as a Draft, you just have to push a Publish (or Send) button when you decide to publish it, so that your watchers know.

5> Poll is a another way to get the feedback quickly, but I wish there was something where the person who starts the poll can add a lil commentary, maybe in a lil text box after the Poll questions, currently, if you want to add something, you just have to add it as a comment or maybe write a journal as some deviants do.

6> Like i noticed in one of my Poll, I think, we should be informed in our message center if somebody adds our Prints to there Wishlist. Don't tell the name, you might have your reasons but, at least say: XYZ Deviation was added to Wishlist, that's all. Not a big deal, but hey, you like to be informed!

7> Another thing: when you submit a News article (& even on Polls) you don't get the replies in your message center, may I know the reason why?!!

8> There should be possibility to export all your Notes as HTML file or something  to your Email (I think, this kind of features are available in Forums elsewhere with the PM-Personal Messages), so that if you want to delete them all from here you can, just to reduce the clutter. But it will be still saved somewhere in your puter i.e your emails or if you download it you can save them in your hard disk. I know most of the Notes are not at all that important or anything, but we are talking about availability of features/options, right?!

9> It would be fab if comments were editable, at least till/after the 5/10 minutes that you have written it.This is nothing new if you use other CMS things, I have seen that once you post the comment, they are editable for maximum 30 minutes after that, you can't, so you see this is possible and nothing out of world that i am talking about. This kind of feature could be useful, in case of typos which is something so common or maybe if you change your mind or have a second thought.

10> Finally, one more thing, I don't understand why I have to vote on my own Poll to see the results, gotta change that, or is there any valid reason?!!

I hope whatever i have written above makes sense and doesn't sound as if i am blabbering. Seems like a longest journal i have ever written!

And, i very clearly know what it takes to develop a product and run it so successfully like dA does. I know, it is very easy to sit here and say this should be there and this not and this could be improved or whatever so I am not being demanding but this are just my thoughts/ideas/suggestions as a user and had been on my mind for some time now, so i just thought to discuss with you and I am sure some of you will echo my thoughts. Plus, i am not much active on dA forums etc. so writing a journal seemed to be a good idea.

Also, the Title might sound a bit demanding, but, trust me, i am not!

I am so excited and thrilled, my blog is listed as 30 Fresh and Promising Blogs To Follow by Six Revisions. I am not one of those who sings her glory all the time but this one is particularly important cause Six Revisions is one of the reputed design blog that I know of. Those who follow things on design and development might be knowing it as well! Just to avoid being repetitive if you like you can read more about it on my blog.

I just wanted to share this with you guys cause my dA friends are very important to me some of you have been so very supporting from the time that I know you, I really appreciate it and I try my best to reciprocate it!

Anyways, apart from that, there is not much to say here...no wait...there is,I am so lagging.....so we will cut this short and do some work!


Btw, is it just me? but I noticed some changes today, yesterday everything was same, but today I noticed this =sign on OBT being changed to something funny.....why?

OMG....I think, I catch it....is it because of April 1?!!

Oh and I just saw +spyed is banned "!". lol *wink*

Though, notwithstanding todays date, whatever I have written on beginning of the journal is true, no prank (at least, I hope so), really! Wow, today should have been some other date!
